About Hot House

Hot House has been educating young musicians across the Midlands since 2002.  Its philosophy is 'inspirational youth music' and the ethos of the organisation is one of positive fostering and development of musical talent.  They actively encourage the older musicians to support and mentor younger and newer pupils.

The focus is on contemporary music including Big Band, Jazz, Latin, Funk and Swing.  Hot House has an international reputation as well as in the UK,. They go regularly to perform in the USA and Europe. Last New Year’s Eve they were with the Birdland Band in New York, before going onto the Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans where they met and played with other bands from all over the world.

On Friday 7th July at 7.00p.m, the Hot House Screaming Kicks Band, with their Jam Band and Jazz Ensemble and The Richard Wakefield School Band, will be providing a brilliant evening of jazz and swing at St. Mary’s Priory Church,Tutbury.
